I woke up today with a new resolve - to join my fellow Yahs in a weight loss journey. Something I try to do and fail at a lot. But I think by checking in here and sharing menus with everyone I might have a fighting chance.

Breakfast:

egg white omelet with 1 0z gorgonzola cheese
2 oz lean low sodium ham slice

chai tea with 1/3 cup fat free milk, 1 splenda

My goal for day one:

I'm going to try to drink a lot of water. I've always had trouble drinking more than 8 0zs a day. I'm going to work on that.

Start posting Yahs!!

What a great idea Barbara!!! I actually started weight watchers online a few weeks ago! since I started on December 10th and actually have managed to have a loss of 3.8 lbs since then! I consider that awesome since I went through all of the Holidays and lots of parties during that time. I am now back on WW strictly and am returning to my exercising since that has slacked over the past few weeks. Good luck to you! I am also bad at getting my water in, so I am focusing on that as well.
QUAD BABY!!!
Thanks Jay!

I've never dieted before. So I am trying to get disciplined by eating healthier. I'm going to try to cut down on sugar, sweets, etc. and eat more veggies, fruit, fish, and chicken. I'm trying to make it more of a lifestyle change than a short-term diet. Does that make sense? LOL

I'm going to start back my exercising this week too. I'm going to walk 30 mins. a day 5 times a week. And also do 2 hours a week of something else like jogging, dance, exercise video etc.

My ideal weight is 120 which I weighed all of my adult life until I got pregnant with the twins. So I have 20 lbs to lose. Hoping to get as close to that as possible by the summer.

Congrats Kathy on losing 3.8 pounds. I think WW is an awesome program. I had actually reached goal weight and became a lifetime member....but unfortunately gained back a lot of what I lost. I hope by helping each other on here we'll be able to make this a life change as Terri says - eating right and moving our bodies so that we can stick with the plan. Good luck.

It certainly does make sense. It really is about lifestyle and not about dieting. After babies and as you get older it gets harder to keep the weight off....take it from experience. Exercise is so important so I love your idea of mixing things up. I'm starting back at my water aerobics tomorrow night and then I'm going to do some weight training at home. If you have some hand weights that's a great way to tone and build muscle.

Congrats on getting started and good luck!!

Yeah we all need to get out the dust cloths and wipe down the exercise equipment - or hang up the clothes laying all over them...lol. My treadmill is folded in it's closed position. I need to get it opened up. It's a balmy 60 degrees here today so I may go for a walk outdoors after work. Not often it's warm in January here in Rochester.

Off to get another glass of water!!

WOW I am so glad you posted this. My new year resolution is to lose weight and alot of it. My husband and I did the Atkins which really works for us. It is hard in the beginning but it worked best for us. With an occactional cheat it was good. The only thing is I had a hard time finding something to snack on. So if anyone knows of the Atkins diet any help would be appricated. The water thing is hard for me as well I DO NOT drink enough of it GOOD LUCK!!

Have a Daughtry Day!!!

Hey Robin. Welcome aboard. A modified low carb diet works best for me too. And yes, I agree - snacks are tough.

I like celery with peanut butter or almond butter.
Sunflower seeds
popcorn
sugar free jello with sugar free fat free cool whip.
string cheese
Berries with cool whip topping

There's also a recipe that uses jello, cream cheese and cool whip I think. I'll look for it on the atkins website. I usually get lots of info from different low carb websites.

Good luck Robin - and fill up that water bottle. It's really important to drink water on a low carb diet.

Thanks hon these are great I love them all. I am always looking for something crunchy and good. I knew you could eat all the whip cream you wanted but there was just so much you can do with it. Thanks if any more ideas let me know thanks guys

Hi all!
Day 2 and so far so good! I brought a salad and the rest of my homemade soup for lunch..also went to the gym this morning!

The real challenge will be over the next couple of days when I am travelling...that usually means no work out and not as healthy eating! ugh!! Hopefully I can just cut back on whatever it is that they give me...

Good luck ladies!!

Whooot for day 2 Amy. One day at a time.......

Good luck in your travels. You'll figure out how to make it work. If you can't work out, you can always do some situps before bedtime. You'll do great!

Good Tuesday morning everyone.

I hope you all had a healthy day yesterday. It doesn't matter. It's a new day. New resolve.

I didn't exercise yesterday but ate well.

My goal today:
stay focused and exercise!

Good luck everyone.
