okay, so here's my guess as to why chris got the boot. Maybe all of the millions of chris fans didn't feel they had to vote because they "Knew" he would go on to the next round anyways. and maybe all of the taylor and elliot fans thought they were going to be the bottom two, so they voted more to prevent it from happening. Therefore, elliot and taylor would be getting more votes. What do ya guys think

[size=3][color=#FF0000]I think we, the fans of Chris, really let him down. It broke my heart when I saw the look on his face when Ryan told him. I hope Chris knows he is a wonderful singer and We are sorry we let him down. I know he will go far and I will be one of the ones standing in line when he comes out with a CD. I want to let Chris and his family know that I am very sorry.

I voted over 200 times. I don't know what happened. I am so heartbroken for him. The look on him face was so unbearable!!!!

You could be right. Here's another possibility: Chris got pegged as a rocker only by the general voting public, and they don't appreciate rock music.
They just don't get it. They don't see that Chris's talent goes beyond rock.
What set him apart from the other contestants is his passion.
Music is supposed to move us. Chris did that.
It didn't matter what style of music he sang - we were hypnotized for that moment.

tired to vote I really really did.. one of the issues I had was I have a life more then teeny bopper 12 year olds.
Could it be as simple as Chris's fans have more a life then everyone else.?
Oh and I think some people didn't vote for Chris because they belive regarless of the vote he has a future when the others don't. They thought it was better to help an underdog to win this Chris.. Makes no sense to me. I hear about people who vote for more then one person each night.. how much sense does that make.. that is not voting at all.

1. Audience demographics: Since Ace was voted off, who has left the show and where are their votes going. Kellie and Paris fans were least likely, I think, to migrate into Chris's camp.
2. Homogenization: Chris's recent performances have been solid, but... lately he hadn't grabbed a song and made it rip, like he did early on with Hemorrhage and Walk the Line. Whether it was backstage pressure, or his own decision, his latest songs stuck more to the originals, and the trademark intensity got toned down as a consequence. The one recent one he did push (the Shinedown song) was unfamiliar to many and was clearly straining his voice, so it didn't leave the same impression. I think this homogenization effect is a result of understandable concern about the breadth of the audience (see number 1 above) but Chris might have done better to continue "making it his own" and "refusing to compromise".
3. The Overdog: What with Simon and numerous polls saying Chris was the favorite to win, he became the "overdog". And if everyone loves the underdog (currently Elliot) then where does that leave Chris?
4. Who Needs to Win: A lot of votes go to the singer who gets perceived as "needing to win" in order to launch their career. Taylor and Elliot, while both good imho, are types that would be unlikely to get a break in the entertainment business without AI. Chris, on the other hand, while being helped by AI, might well have gone a fair distance on his own steam. (This is also why I think Kat is next to go. She already has other tools to keep her foot in the door of the biz.)
5. New AI Viewers and Voters: Chris drew a lot of fans who hadn't been AI watchers before (myself included). These "novice" AI fans have just as much passion for their favorite as other fan bases, but may not have been as intense about actually voting. While other contestants drew more from established power-voting segments of the AI audience, Chris fans were perhaps deceived into complacency by the general consistency of Chris's performances and his generallly positive reviews from the judges.
So, there you have it! But for Chris, no worries. His work is done here. AI did for him what he wanted it to. He will have a long and successful career in music.
