I wasn't able to vote for Chris on tuesday. What happened with the phones. I hear that people were getting errors. Could someone inform me on what happened? If there were errors, I demand to see justice for Chris.

That mentions how to avenge for what happened. I want to know what actually happened. I was hearing that people were getting errors with text messaging and touch-dial phones.

I tried for 2 hours to get through to vote for Chris, but never got through! I think that American Idol sucks and I definitely will not watch it next week.

I TRIED FOR TWO HOURS TO GET THROUGH AND KEPT EITHER GETTING BUSY SIGNAL(WHICH I EXPECTED) BUT MOSTLY I KEPT GETTING A MESSAGE THAT MY CALL COULDN'T GO THROUGH AND TRY AGAIN. I'M PISSED ALSO BECAUSE IF OTHERS WERE GETTING THE SAME, WE ALL COULDN'T VOTE.

I also experienced phone errors on Tuesday night. At times it appeared that the phone line was out of order. Once it stated that "you have reached this number in error". I am literally sick over last night. If the phone lines were not working properly then something needs to be done.

I was able to get in some votes...only 142- last week I got in 265 votes. (I constantly push redial for the full 2 hours) I did get a lot of errors though, it was like I was dialing the wrong number..you know the tones and the recording.."the number you have reached.." then I would hang up all pissed because obviously, I didn't have the wrong munber if I am just pushing redial!

Last week, I was able to get through alot time and time again. I was worried more last week about this. I told my husband that I was worried because I was getting through without busy signals. This week I was only able to get through 15 times with plenty of busy signals. But since I am from NC and all the talk on local tv and radio is about Chris being voted out, I just heard on a local radio station this guy called in and said that in the first 45 minutes when he tried to call he keep getting a message that his called didn't go through and please try again.

I cannot even believe what happened last night! I am outraged! I am not watching American Idol for the rest of this season. Taylor is a gray haired geek, Elliott sings the same crap all the time and Kat sucked 2 weeks in a row! I was soooo sad last night. Chris' face was so upsetting. I wish I could have hugged him. Anyway, I got tons of errors when I called for him. A voice kept coming saying OV 4. I kept telling my boyfriend I dont know what that means. Maybe Chris' votes really werent the lowest because of that? I am SHOCKED, MAD, SAD and just utterly outraged. I am in Long Island NY. What kinds of error messages was everyone else getting? What did it say?

I had a problem voting. After not being able to get through for 2 hours, I got some weird message about a talk line - on both numbers! I double checked to make sure the numbers I dialed were correct and they were! Worth any action? I don't know. I was really dissapointed last night and I know I won't vote again this season.

Hi, I'm from Greensboro, NC and I kept getting errors on Tuesday night too but I was able to get through 100 times. I was listening to a local radio show this morning and people were calling in saying that when they were voting for Chris on Tuesday night on HIS number that Katharine came on and said "Thanks for voting for me Katharine". So people around here think something is shady. Everyone is in mourning and in complete shock.

I don't know about the phones, but I have a feeling something was up. Isn't it odd how Taylor sang from a request of a celebrity (Rebecca Rojmin) when she didn't have a favorite? I also think it was pretty crappy how Ryan Seacrest announced the results. It was very crude. No on knew what hit them. He could have said that it is with great honor that you made it this far....no he goes and says, "chris, you're going home." I feel so bad for Chris having to go, but I feel it isn't the last we will see of him. There have to be record companies out there that are waiting to sign him. We are all 100% behind you Chris!! We love you and keep the faith!!

Think of it like this. I live in Michigan. We have a ton of Daughtry fans here. Lets say 25,000 of us all dial Chris' number. Our regional carrier AT&T can only handle 5,000 calls at once. So 5,000 get thru and 20,000 get busy signaled. It doesn't matter if Chris' line can handle 100,000 calls at once, what matters is what the local carriers can let thru.

Conversly, in places like Iowa, there are 5,000 Taylor fans. The regional carrier over there has 5,000 lines. So each call for Taylor can get thru.

When you add people like Elliot & Katharine, who share the same carrier lines on the way out, you can see why it was hard to get thru.

I have no doubt Katharine & Chris have larger fan bases. Unfortunately they are in small very highly concentrated areas.

It sucks that Chris lost this way, but he will be fine. He will probably sell the most records out of this crop of contestants anyway.

The same thing happened to me. I also got the message my call couldn't go through. Eventually, I did get through though. I am totally not watching this show anymore! He was by far the BEST! I'm starting to wonder if this show is rigged. Everyone was in shock from Simon to Katherine. It's pretty bad when even Katherine was shocked she beat him!

I had the exact same problem! I tried for 2 hours & I got the same error message.
So not fair! I demand justice for Chris as well. I want answers. I was so upset, I was crying. He will always be my idol! Hopefully, he won't need AI anyway.

I had trouble voting, For over 2 hours i tryed.
How can they say it was fair if half of America couldn't vote, I know a few people that couldn't get threw cause the lines stayed busy.

OMG I had the same thing happen, again and again! I wunder if they had a problem they didnt know about? I don't know if it was an error, but, at least a couple of times while trying to vote for Chris I got a "please enter your six-digit passcode," message. That seemed odd to me. Did anyone else hear a message like this or similar to it?

I tried calling both numbers every 5 minutes for the entire two and a half hours and got a busy signal every time. I figured people were voting and that he would be safe.... maybe there was something wrong....

I tried to vote for Chris on Tues for the full 2 hours using both lines and either got a busy signal or an error. I think that there is a major problem with Idols phone lines and will not be watching Idol anymore.

I DID, and so did my sister, it wouldn't go through, not even a busy signal. This is ridiculous, he should not have been voted off!

We also got the recording that all available lines were busy. We live in Northwestern WI. I was able to get through when the lines were first opened then after that, all I got was a busy signal - - which I thought was a good sign that all of Chris' fans were voting for him - - I too feel the producers know who they want to win right from the beginning and the rest is just there to catch the audience (you and I) - - it was great watching Chris perform and I hope I get to catch him in concert one day! I was in complete shock yesterday when stupid Ryan said "Chris you are going home"! I hope he gets a lot of backlash for that! In the meantime, I have know desire to watch the show anymore.

The best thing for us to do is sign the petition which I have already done.

Well, to 'Jerry', I don't buy the regional thing. I am in California, started voting at 9:30PT, long after any MT/CT people would have had this phone issue, and I too had the phone issue. Including the weird 'talk line' that someone else mentioned (I had hit redial, got a talk line, looked at the number on my phone and it was NOT an AI number, nor was it any number I had EVER called, had me baffled). I didn't think too much of the 'wrong number' and other error messages, because this was the first time I had ever spent over an hour calling for an Idol and thought it might be normal. Now reading all these posts, I see it is NOT.
This just ads fuel to the fire...

I got an error message once. Sometimes I would just get an odd busy signal.

My boyfriend told me that he paused his TV at the end of the show so that he could get Chris's number and then dialed it the first time and got a message saying - "Thank you for voting for Taylor Hicks" or somethin like that. So he hunged up and dialed the number again only slower and got the same message. I have no idea but I thought that was weird.

i got the exact same thing, so if you called in to vote for chris and got taylor and had to call back with another number for chris then taylors votes shouldnt be true

I called @ least over 100 times....on my cell.....and i got through about 6 out of all the times i tried. I was talking to my Coach today during break and we had a debate on ther results! This is BS and he said that if u look closely at the bottom of the screen when it goes off...it says something like "idol has the ability to change the results if necessary" (something like that) I swear if i see that i am going to write a LONG COMPLAINING letter to Fox!

I'm on the West Coast and my husband and I took turns dialing for 2 hrs. at least 1 of every 3 votes didn't go through. Reading about how the phone load might have been too much for local companies makes sense though, but it stinks that my two favorites were at the bottom.
Just means that once again the most talented musician will not be the American Idol.
Maybe if no one watches next week they'll realize something wasn't right.
Did anyone else notice that they didn't give numbers for how many votes were made this week. They've hyped it up the last several weeks, but didn't say anything about this being a record breaking or a low voting night.
