My favorite is "So I Lie Awake". It has the cool soft edge mixed with the hard.

Me too, Do you know how to download it from the official Absent Element site and forward it to this one? This way everyone can listen to it. It's so perfect on too many levels, don't you think? I just wrote to Travis about doing this but everything I've sent to him gets returned.

I had Keep Me Close here before, but I changed my mind after hearing Seven/4 a couple more times.

The lyrics are incredible, the vocals are killer and the music is just awesome! Love the guitar in that one!!

That's the time signature it's written in. Took me a while to realize it, but one day it struck me like a bolt of lightning.

Like other people have said, the more I listen to the CD, the more I change my mind about favorites. Seems to change every couple days, but the most consistent favorite is probably Keep Me Close. I really love the video of him performing it at one of his homecoming events!

This is what Mark, the AE guitarist, had to say about the song:

"ok on to 7&4 -- let me just ask you this -- have you tried counting the measures? (dont tell anyone but i think the meter is 7/8 but i screwed up and said it was 7&4 timing) so the name stuck --- because.. when it was written, it was simply music - and chris added in the lyrics later - and at each show he would change them, so it wasnt until we recorded it that the lyrics were actually set in stone."

By the way, I think my fav AE song is 'Let Me In'...the chorus is awesome....I loved it the first time I heard it....but all the songs are great!

i really like all the absent element songs but the one that stands out for me is break down, i didnt really like it at first but now i cant get enuf of it

Has anyone head the song The Drug I Need? I got it from a web site where I get my files from (I am sure some of you use the same site) and this song came up when I put in "Chris Daughrty." Well, if any of you get the chance to download this song, it is AWESOME... My favorite part of The Drug I Need..

I've heard The Drug I Need, but I don't think it's Chris. It was sent to me by someone who said it was him, but other people who have heard it said it was by the band Smile Empty Soul. The song has kind of grown on me, regardless! LOL!
