I did not watch American Idol last night but I learned that Fuel was in the front row while Chris was not there.
For me the question of the night is NOT who is going to be in the finals but why the hell was FUEL in the AI audience. I thought they hated AI. Plus Chris was still in New York doing promotions. Are they that desperate for Chris that they are willing to lose their street cred by being in the AI audience. Hey Fuel is a top alternative band so why the hell would they be in the AI audience listening to Taylor howl and Kat screech?
Well the rumor is that Chris will sing Hemorrhage in the finals with Fuel as the opening act. I thought this was a big joke when I heard this rumor but seeing Fuel in the audience makes this rumor have some legs.

You know, they're there for a reason. Yes, it may be to prepare for Hemorrhage, which would be AWESOME if they did.
But maybe they're just there talking contract stuff over with AI. They really have to show their interest now that Chris has so many offers. And he is still under a contract with AI which streches to August. And I know they want him after that. Carl Bell, (guitar, Fuel), said in the recent email he sent out to Fuel fans that it isn't even sure if Epic/Sony can work out a contract deal with Chris and AI. So they're problably there talking those things over. They would never be there just for fun, especially now that Chris is out.

That would be truly amazing if that rumor was true that Fuel and Chris will perform Hemorrhage as the opening act of the 2 hour finale.

They probably paid them to be there.....
I didn't watch, but I heard from sources that the show was aweful....
The audience was booing..
Katherine is a spoiled little rich girl......
Chris will not join fuel.... He si going to go out on his own.
Fuel needs him, he doesn't need them. He will do fine if not better without them.
Rob Thomas told him not to join. I don't think he will.

I watched the show and it WAS awful--there is no way that the 3 that are left are better than Chris!!! I will NEVER watch another season of AI--I only watched last night to see if they mentioned Chris and he will be in the last show. Tell me WHO is going to buy Katherine singing "Somewhere over the rainbow"?????? The silver hairs don't buy alot of music!!!! But it was great last night when Katherinw stated that the judges had been hard on her the last couple of weeks!!!!! She should not be there!!!! Oh well, like Chris has said it's time to move on!!!!

Okay, I admit it: I am weak. I watched. Seriously, it's like a horrible car accident -- you don't want to look, but you HAVE to. I saw Fuel also, but it was like a quick 2 second glance of them and I swear that they didn't do the usual "FUEL" at the bottom of the screen. I am wondering if they weren't supposed to be put on camera? I really second guessed myself about whether it was them or not; apparently it was! I have no idea why they would be there -- weird, huh?

I didn't watch; I listened from another room, as my mother was watching, and Elliott was by far the best of the night. Katherine did do well on "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" but not on her other two, and Taylor slaughtered a classic Springsteen and did decent on two other songs, and Elliott performed the best overall. But Chris wasn't there.

But like people are saying; he's going on to much bigger and better things, so I'm just happy for that.
As for Fuel, I truly hope he doesn't go with their offer; I think he should either go solo or stick with Absent Element. But it would be pretty damn cool to see him singing "Hemorrhage" WITH Fuel at the finale!!! Take THAT AI!!!!!! *snickers*

I hope the rumors are true. I've wanted that, myself, for Chris to perform with Fuel. I know at last year's Finale, Bo performed with Lynard Skynard, Carrie performed with Rascal Flatts, etc, so it's possible. I'm not sure if i necessarily want Chris to JOIN Fuel (if anything, i think he should get Absent Element signed and maybe TOUR with Fuel...or Live or Shinedown. I'm sure any of them would be willing. Hell, maybe all 4 bands could tour together. That would be awesome), but i'd love to at least see him perform with them. I hope they really do that. "Hemmorage" was his best performance,i think, and to sing it with the band would just totally ROCK!!!

I watched the first part of it, heard the first song from all 3 and on-off frm there. it was so blah without Chris. all three of them seemed to be singing the same kind of songs. and the camera only showed Fuel once i think throughout the entire thing. maybe the producers/cameraman/whoever thought it was interesting that they were there.

Hey, good memory about last year, but they were the final 2 singing with their favorite groups. Chris stated yesterday that his favorite group, as much as he likes Fuel and is flattered by their offer, etc.is LIVE. Fuel itself has gained a lot of publicity from all of this---to be honest with you, I never heard of them until Chris Daughtry. I'm an old hippie, rocker, etc. and as much as I keep up with music it doesn't include this genre that Chris runs with. Although, I'm open to it now. All that being said, I just fell in lOVE with Chris and feel that he is truly a great musician and destined to be incredibly successful. I cannot wait forhis first CD. . . I have had my favorites in the past, but I have to tell you that I have never in all my life been crazy for anyone like this. I cannot get over it myself. His appeal crosses many age barriers---he has connected with THE PEOPLE.
And you know, I couldn't even choose a favorite performance. I loved RENEGADE AND HAVE YOU EVER REALLY LOVED A WOMAN and WONDERFUL WORLD AND SUSPICIOUS MINDS AND AND WALK THE LINE-------!!!!!!!!!!! IT'S GONNA BE A LONG WAIT FOR HIS CD!!!!!!!

I agree wtih you! I think they were there for business purposes and if you watched "Idol Tonight" (which I did only because Chris was interviewed on it and only because Fuel talked about Chris) Fuel stated that they are dealing with the lawyers right now. So, it would seem that Chris is entertaining this offer at least seriously enough to want to know what they legal ramifications will be with IDOL. I wouldn't hate on Fuel because they were in the audience, I truly beleive for them it was all about business. How excited would Fuel be if Chris said yes? I love that band, but they do need Chris more than Chris needs them right now

That would be totally sweet if there was that tiny remote chance that he would perform with "Live". A little "Lightning Crashes". It might be possible give that Live is fixing to release their 1st album in quite some time!!!

They don't know who watched unless you tell them you watched. Peolple are asked to document what they watch for a week and then mail it in, or maybe now by giving info by phone. I took part a few years ago.

A huge band like Fuel does not arbitrarily show up just because. Either it was a Fuel decision or an invitation was offered by the producers in advance. Ratings booster. Can't imagine Fuel had nothing better to do.lol . Unless! they're looking at Taylor Pricks for the lead singer. LMAO. As with the rest of us, I am sure it was expected Chris Daughtry would be in the top three. Best laid plans.....etc. etc.

I wondered who those guys were!! They looked PISSED! I thought they were Chris' friends who had tickets and decided to use them even though he was gone. The producers DID NOT type "Fuel" on the screen like they usually do for EVERY B-list star who is on the show. And they only showed them once. They stood out like a sore thumb.
Again, unfortunately WE make NO DIFFERENCE on AI's ratings unless we are Nielson box households. Whether we watch or not has NO IMPACT on AI's ratings.

I said this somewhere before, but, how would you feel to be Fuel's second choice as a singer 'if Chris doesn't accept'. It's too bad they announced this - now most people will look at their new lead singer differently. It would have been better if they didn't say anything about it.
Personally, I'll listen to Chris no matter what he chooses to do, as long as I can hear him.
