No, its not just you. Every time he chants "Soul Patrol" I long for someone to tackle him to the ground, or slap him. Not to be mean because yes I know we all have our opinion, and for some reason a lot of people seem to love Taylor , I just am not a fan of his type of music and the way he looks when he sings and dances is hilarious to me. IMO

I can tell you that he got the slogan from Rick and Bubba(Radio) in Alabama. They started it for him, and it has caught on down here like wildfire - BIG TIME!! It's his way of ralling the troops to vote for him(as Bob had state - his own cheerleader).

That is so funny. I just finished telling some friends at work the same thing. I told them I was ready to throw something at the TV if he said Soul Patrol one more time. I just can't believe that anyone can think that Taylor could possibly be the next American Idol. My bet is that if he wins he will end up like Ruben. Nowhere!!! Chris IS the uncrowned winner of American Idol. His crown was stolen by some old gray haired guy and a stuck on herself girl who can't remember the words to her songs. So sad.

Anyway, Chris is better off without American Idol. Look forward to buying his CD.

LOL!!!!! I have to admit, when I first saw Taylor, I loved his energy and kind of gravely voice. But after a few weeks I got a little...distracted by the spaz dancing. I couldn't decide if he was trying to be a cross between Joe Cocker and Elvis or...if the poor man was just having seizures or some kind of tehret's syndrome kinda thing.

He says out "Soul Patrol" in almost every show as a shoutout to his fans - so they feel appreciated/acknowledged to vote for him. But....he overdoes it, even when he gets into the limo while in his hometown after saying something, he shouts out "Soul Patrol".

You know what about him that drives me up the wall? His style of dancing, if you call that dancing. I really cringe. It's all random movements - the sligth squat, shaking of legs like Elvis does, the snapping of fingers, the jerk of his head like he does when he says "WHOOOO". That really drives me crazy.

And I have to also admit that in the very VERY beginning I thought he wasn't half way bad (his voice - NEVER his dancing <in>ability). But the further the show advanced, the more I agreed with Simon that he sounds like someone doing Karaoke (sp) at some wedding. IMHO Taylor lacks originality and style.

Just another reason to hate Taylor.

Ruben, Fantasia, and George Huff all went Gospel. I had to do some searching but I found it on the internet. I can't stand the thought of America making a "dancing boy" or a tone deaf opera singer the next idol.

I finally got my hand back to normal, lifting heavy packages at work helped, otherwise I would still be in the position of pushing redial 20-30 times the night Chris was "booted off".

Come on now...Taylor's performances are the second-best thing about the show (Chris being the best of course).
