Nigel said some interesting things in the AI Extra interview. He said that if he could vote he would have voted to keep Chris in the competition. Also he thought Chris would have won this competition.

Also, Nigel said that all the top 12 contestants will be singing live in the finale and Chris will have a special live performance and he emphasized the word "live". Then he said he couldn't talk about it because it is a surprise.

Now there has been much speculation that that "live" comment meant that Chris will be singing "Walk the Line" with the actually band LIVE in the finale. It would be a fitting end because of all the controversy with that performance also it would give Chris the type of send off that he did NOT get when everybody else did.

I wouldn't be surprise if this rumor was true.

That would be incredible if it turns out to be true! I really hope it is! Is there video on here somewhere of this interview? I missed it.

I hope this happens! If Chris sang with LIVE in the finale (my favorite band and my favorite singer),i would freak out! American Idol MIGHT even redeem themselves in my eyes if this happened! I think they owe Chris a proper send off since he was robbed of the title he deserved
akki
that would be so cool if he sang Walk The Line with Live! It'll make Chris so happy! it'll be so good, i hope the rumor's true!

I hate to disappoint people but i think the "Live" word is being taken out of context. My specualtion and it has been mentioned before is that his special "live: performance will be him Singing "Hemorage" With FUEL playing LIVE in front of the Audience. IT going to give everyone what to expect in the future when Chris becomes the lead singer of FUEL.

well whoever he sings with, it'll be awesome happy.gif

good for Nigel. i think, i read somewhere too that both Simon and Randy said that if they can have their pick, Chris should win the competition. but since Chris is already out, Taylor would win.

did Nigel mentioned if Chris was going to perform alone with his "Idol"? because sometimes they just perform as a group but i think the Top3 gets to perform solo and the rest are just in groups...

as for the Live thingie, i dunno... well, he can perform with Nick Lachey and i'll still find it awesome! hehehe... laugh.gif

I don't know why Chris would want to be the lead singer of Fuel after FUEL put down Chris' performance of Elvis songs as "hooky". Chris is SO far above Fuel. Hope he takes Rob Thomas' advice.

HOLY CRAP I hope this is true!!! I'm new to American Idol (or was... I miss Chris!), do they do this on the Tuesday night show or the Wednesday night show?

I will be on a plane from NC to LA SEE LiVE live on Wednesday, they are playing a show IN Los Angeles that night so... it IS entirely possible. I have also heard this rumor on a LiVE website, NOT the official one but a fansite. That reminds me... I should go check that out and see if there is anything updated.... smile.gif

If he performed with Fuel, it could help him decide whether or not he wants to join them; if they mesh and have that chemistry or not. But if he performs "I Walk The Line" with Live, it would be kind of a kick in the butt tongue.gif to all the people who started all the controversy about the song that may or may not have hurt his chances. I think it would be AWESOME if he could perform with EITHER of them (i'd personally prefer Live, though. A duet of Chris and Ed would ROCK), though. Maybe he could manage to steal attention away from the winner and become the STAR of the Finale, so America could see the mistake they've made.

I also think the word "live" was being taken out of context and that it simply means they are going to let Chris sing a song on his OWN (not in a group)...even though he wasn't a Top Three, I think they know they owe Chris this tribute. He was the best performer they have EVER had on that show and he was disgraced (although he's much better off).

Whether he sings with any band or not is just guesswork - I'd rather like to see him on stage with Absent Element, but I know that won't happen. But a girl can hope....
..kArEn..
it's kind of funny that Simon, Randy, Nigel and Clive all implied that Chris should've been at the finals and had he been, he wold've won. it's obvious that they didn't like who landed at the Top2. tongue.gif they can't stop talking about him even when the topic is the Top2. laugh.gif
Brian M
WHAT CHRIS SHOULD DO TO REALLY SHOW UP THE FINALISTS SING BITS AND PIECES OF TAYLOR AND KATS SONGS HAHA ...NAH BUT FOR REAL....EITHER IF CHRIS SINGS WALK THE LINE...OR HEMMORAGE...WITH THE LIVE BANDS HE IS GONNA TEAR THE ROOF OFF THE PLACE...BOTH OF HIS VERSIONS WERE AMAZING....JUST AS LONG AS HE DOESNT SING ANY GOO GOO DOLLS..HAHAH....HELL I WOULDNT MIND SEEING HIM SING A MATCHBOX 20 SONG SINCE HE DID TALK TO ROB THOMAS
Daughtry4Lyfe
THAT WOULD BE SO FREAKING AWESOME!!!
chrisrocks13
I thought he was singing Hemmorhage with Fuel. I hope not, cuz that would mean that he wants to sign on with them. I hate Fuel! He should stay with Absent Element. He owes the rest of his band that.
Purpleguitar
He could sing the ABC's or the phone book for all I care as long as he sings laugh.gif Either way either song don't matter for me I like both of the songs....

My money is on Chris going it alone, why would someone with such a great voice and charism want to settle for just lead singer. He even said on some interview he would make an album that would cover all types of rock!!!!!!!
ChrisROX
LIVE is in concert in LA next Wed, they are on at 9p five minutes away from where AI will be at 5pm for the Finale.......

I'd put my money on a Chris + LIVE performance for next Wed nite.

bigd1451
Maybe a special LIVE performance just means he is gonna sing a Live song... who knows. It could mean a number of things.

I'd say there's a pretty fair chance that Chris will be performing with Live since they're in the area. On top of that, Chris mentioned in an interview that he'd spoken with Ed recently before he promptly ran out of time. Putting 2 and 2 together, I think it makes more sense than Fuel, unless Chris accepted the invitation (which I don't think he will). Chris will do whatever he does and be successful because he has the talent and the ability. Personally, the comments Fuel made the other day implying if Chris were rock he'd choose the band, if not he's going to pop route were a bit of a low blow and I think Chris will see it that way too.

i know! im glad im not the only one that noticed that. they were also quite tacky on Idol Extra! when they were asked what must be the reason why Chris got the boot, they said it's probably because of the Elvis songs. they said, "nobody can do Elvis"! i mean, wtf?! good thing, Rosanna (i think that's the name of the host) defended Chris and said, "Well, Chris can do ANYTHING!". damn right, he can!

Actually, I have to agree on the point that no one else can really do Elvis. Elvis had a very unique voice, and the impact he had on music makes him very recognizable. That being said, I personally thought Chris's rendition of Suspicious Minds was fantastic, but his "staying true to Elvis" later was what did him in. My beef with the show is that when you're that far along they shouldn't be stuck with gimmick weeks. Does anyone else think that Chris would've absolutely brought the house down singing Dream On? Personally, Dream On is one of my favorite songs ever, and I think Chris would understand that only good ol Tyler can hit those high notes (unlike the chick on Rockstar that sounded like she hit a brick wall). Actually, that's a thought too - since Clive originally signed them, maybe Chris will do something unexpected, like, say Aerosmith.

well last season most got to sing with some of their favorites
i love C. D
OMG if they let him play, i will freake out, that is sooooooooooo flippen kol. w00000000w i hope so!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! if he plays i might just watch AI agian!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's one reason I stopped watching Idol after the first season (until I heard Chris' voice)...

The whole point of Idol is to "create" a star, right? Wouldn't it make sense if they were actually allowed to perform songs of their OWN genre and not some pre-set AI-chosen genre? At least in the final month or so of the show. I know they count on the "big star" names coming on the show and dragging a few ratings with them. They could *at least* let the Top 5 choose their songs from whatever genre they are comfortable with...or even one of their OWN songs (Chris would NOT have lost if he had been able to do...for instance...Keep Me Close).

Bleh! Anyway, I'm done with American Idol again - I seriously doubt another "Chris" will ever come along. The boy is one-of-a-kind natural raw talent. That doesn't happen every day.
