This video is from a little older newscast, from the week Chris sang Higher Ground. The local news channel interviewed the Daughtrys.
Chris' parents proud click on the link above, then when the page pops up, click on the title of the article to view the video.
I already have this and another clip with just his mother speaking on my playlists. What I don't have is any idea what his brother looks like...how much older he is than Chris???? Anyone? Anyone?
His mother's dialect is that of middle/upper class NC/Va dialect. What ppl do not know about NC is that it is second in the nation for the number of colleges in this state so the towns everywhere are filled with many out of state people attending college there. The economy is dependent upon ppl everywhere having the ability to relate to well educated learned ppl. The population is widespread meaning there are no huge cities but towns everywhere. You cannot go very far without finding a populated area with a college nearby. NC is filled with people that are in touch with middle America. So Chris should be like another NC native, Michael Jordan, and be able to relate to anyone from farmer to CEO.
Hopefully, with his background he will be able to "walk with Kings and Queens and not lose the common touch!"
Go Chris!
