I have to agree, but I'm glad that it was Taylor over Kathryn. I'll be seeing Chris and the Idols here in portland with a big sign.

If it couldn't be Chris. Elliott was my backup, so to be honest.. I didn't really care who won. But, at the same time I didn't want Kat to win. I went through a weird phase in the last couple weeks of AI, cause I didn' even know really what I wanted. But, I knew that I didn't want Kat to win.
I know, I am confusing.. and trust me, I confuse myself the most.. lol.

Anyway, I am glad that it was Taylor out of them two.

It really doesn't matter who won. The only person of merit was Chris and it might just be better that he didn't win although in a just world he would have. Even though I'm still pissed off about it, I think that Chris might actually benefit in the long run without the AI contract crutch, even though he's bound to it till the end of September.
As for Taylor, I don't know what success he will have. It will be minimal and I'm sure the backers and producers of the show will pimp him for a long time to justify it all. Fat Kat, fuck her, she can go back to frog-eyes daddy, she doesn't have any talent outside of a porno. Elliott can get a lot of work for weddings and maybe cruises or an old lounge in Vegas. Nice guy but..... Pickler, cough*whore*cough...

Frankly aside from Chris the only other person with any talent was Mandisa but, unfortunately for her, how do you market another Aretha Franklin (blimp weight-wise)?

The finale was boring and anti-climactic because it just didn't matter.

I don't really care who won. Chris is the true American Idol. But I'm happy for Taylor. I'm glad Chris didn't win anyways because I'd hate to see him tied down to contracts and making crappy songs like Bo Bice (not that Chris could make crappy songs). Taylor's a hell of a lot better than Kat though.

I just wanted to clarify: believe me, I didn't VOTE for Taylor. It's just that his getting the "official" title of winner sits a whole better than Kat getting it. It is unbelievable how heavy my heart still is, though. Poor Chris having to go on an AI tour and singing such soupy material. Thank God, he didn't win it.

I thought the Soul Patrol was the best organized fan base I'd ever seen. Brilliant strategist. The best didn't win, not even close, but Taylor's fan base performed a marketing strategy worthy of a presidential campaign. Nevertheless, I didn't care one way or another after Chris left.

IF Chris coulnd't win. then it was Elliott... But Taylor Vs. Kat... I wanted Taylor all the way !!! So I am very happy that he beat her. She is so stuck on herself... She's saying.. It was as someone said "a wave" picking up momentum as the contest bore down. It's like they say about the Kentucky Derby: the best horse doesn't necessarily win. So many factors to take into account. And one thing about Chris, he is so honest and true to himself , he never "compromised" on any of his chosen material so that he could appeal more to the masses. For instance, the Queen song Innuendo might have been You're My Best Friend and garnered him more votes. On Elvis nite, instead of A Little Less Conversation, he might have chosen Heartbreak Hotel or Love Me Tender. If he had chosen differently here and there, I believe, he would have made it to the final 2. And yet, there's still the issue of those damn phone lines.

Sorry about my response coming out in triplicate. It might be a sign that I need to gvie this all a rest. . .but that's hard to do when you're obsessed. . .

because i luv chris, i didn't want him to win AI... i think the title of being american idol 5 winner would hurt him. that said, i honest to god thot it would be chris and taylor at the end... altho elliot def. grew on me towards the end. it was expected that taylor would win; he had a whole state voting for him (alabama). he already had a huge fan base in AL and his fans were die-hard loyal to him... even i dun think he wasn't consistent at all in the competition. he started out pretty good but then he started to lose that appeal... that passion for music that he initially had. elliot started to get better and better but chris was the most consistent out of everyone on that show. so if it were really up to merit, it would been chris and elliot at the end... in my opinion.

on a side note, i didn't watch AI anymore after chris left but i heard rumors that the night before the finale, kat and taylor didn't do very well on their songs or something? and that elliot shouldn't have gone home that week after chris left... did anyone catch those shows? cuz if the last few performances weren't good, that just supports my claim that AI is def. not based on merit...

Where did you hear that Chris wanted Taylor to win? Everytime I heard him asked he refused to say....said both of them were friends.
