Americans Bet that Chris Daughtry Outsells Both Idol Finalists McPhee and Hicks

Taylor Hicks was crowned the American Idol this week in a special 2 hour episode. The final two contestants were Hicks and Katherine McPhee. While both are phenomenal talents, Idol fans were shocked that Chris Daughtry did not at least make it to the final round. His cast-off was controversial to say the least, but with such a huge fan base, he is sure to have a very successful career ahead of him.

The scenario begs the question, "If Daughtry was indeed the favorite, then who will sell the most copies of their debut albums, Chris, Taylor, or Katherine?" Always the quickest to provide fans with answers to questions like those, the largest most respected sportsboodk on the web, BetUs.com, posted odds as to who would outsell who.

"The entire cast was so good this year," stated BetUs.com analyst Matt Ross. "Predicting a winner was very very difficult. With all the backlash from the Daughtry vote-off however, he seems to have a good chance of having the best career out of all the three."



Well looks like it has started. Chris has sold the most iTunes peaking at number 11, most downloaded AI contestant according to Bilboard downloads peaking at number 16, now first AI contestant from this season to make the Bilboard Pop top 40 at number 37!!!

As it should be considering he was the most talented of ANY idol in 5 years...I know I'll be buying his cd's and going to his concerts...Tyra

It's just simply a No-Brainer that Chris will outsell Taylor 'the Hick'-s and Kat-ty McPhlawed. Joking aside, Taylor will be a one hit wonder at best and I don't even think in reality anyone will buy anything Katherine does. I can't picture what sort of music they would do besides ballads for Katherine and Remakes of old 60s and 70s tunes for Taylor.

Chris was the only one with any 'real world' talent on that show...arguably since the shows existence. Simon claimed that Carrie Underwood would outsell all Idol winners (up to that point) combined but I think Chris will blow all of them out of the water and I don't think, unless having Chris on the show opens a floodgate of talent never seen before, the show will never see someone like Chris again, thus he will be the biggest thing that ever happened to AI and will outsell everyone.

Thanks, Lassie, and to the other devoted Chris fans who keep The Daughtry Nation informed and up-to-date with all the latest Chris statistics. It is so sweet AND just to have all this happening for him. . .NOW!!!! rather than later which was the greatest concern for us all. It will no doubt make his summer a whole lot less of a bitter pill.

I just absolutely LOVE articles like this.

Perhaps we'll never know what "really" happened that dreadful night (that he was voted off), but it feels so good to hear that we aren't the only ones who know who's the real #1.

Thanks for posting this. I too believe that Chris will outsell Taylor and Kat combined. No question in my mind. Talent always sales and this is why Chris will be successful while the other two will probably fall to the wayside.

In a couple of years we will say - Taylor who just like you can say with Ruben. I agree with the comment - one hit wonder!
