Someone on the AI board just posted this:
Hello Chris Fans,
I just came from McLeansville, NC after seeing Chris is a personal appearance. He cut a young woman's hair on stage, and sang the first song off the Absent Element CD. I'm sorry, but I don't know what the title is, but even on cheap sound equipment he was soooooooo great!
Constantine was there with him, and he had just come in the day before from watching a Pearl Jam concert in New York. His wife and the children were there, and his parents and in-laws. There were people who came from Florida, Los Angelas, TN. etc.
He answered some questions, and here is some of what I heard.
Will you stay in McLeansville?
Chris: "I don't know about staying in McLeansville, but we will stay in Guilford Co. McLeansville will always be home though."
We heard you were in New York yesterday? What were you doing in New York?
Chris: "I won't say who I was with, but I went to a Pearl Jam concert"
Who inspired you throughout your life and career?
My parents and my wife, Deanna of course. Where my career is concerned have you heard of a band called "Live"? This got a huge round of applause.
You've met a lot of celebrities, Chris, so your fans want to know who stands out the most?
Chris: That would have to be Billy Bob Thornton. He came to my motel room and we had a great time talking and jamming. He is a kind, down-to-earth man. He is also so a Southerner so we have that in common. Billy Bob also remembered that I had a picture taken with him a couple of years ago. He said "I know that man" when he saw me on American Idol." I've also met people like Tim McGraw, Rob Thomas, Paris Hilton, and Jessica Simpson.
What about your plans for the future?
Chris: "I can tell you that I am NOT signing with Fuel. Whatever happens I will be going out on my own. I will make a decision before the end of the year."
Chris also talked about how he felt when he lost the AI title. He said, "I felt like it was the end. Now, I know that it was the best thing that ever happened to me". He got a big cheer for that comment.
