Chris Daughtry celebrated his homecoming in both Greensboro and McLeansville, NC on Saturday, June 3, 2006.

Fox 8, the local affiliate, aired a lot of coverage of the festivities on the 6 pm news.

They also did a slightly shortened version on the news at 10 pm.

Not only did they focus on Chris and his band, Absent Element, but they also featured Mr. Daughtry.com!

Chris and Absent Element performed "Wanted Deal or Alive." The mini concert benefited the Children's Home Society of NC.

NOTE dated 5/7/07: The megaupload links for the 10 pm broadcast video segments were dead. I put all these videos on a disk and if I can locate them, I will reupload them. IMPORTANT: Only download one video at a time with Megaupload. Sometimes you can get away with doing two, but lately Megaupload has been putting up a screen with your IP address, telling you that your download limit has been exceeded. So, just do one Megaupload link at a time.

Some of been experiencing an error coming up saying that the URL for the download can't be accessed. This seems to be an intermittent problem, because I tested a couple of the links, and the message came up and I thought those links were no good. But, then I went back a couple of hours later, and the URLs were good! Strange, so keep trying.

NOTE: How to use megaupload links.

LEFT click on the link. It will take you to a download page. Occasionally, you may first hit a page with a bunch of info about megaupload and I think it tries to get you to become a paying member. (You don't need to be a paying member to download this). Just hit the link at the very top right that says, "On to Megaupload."

NEW INFO as of 06-23-06: A page is now coming up at this point with a code you must copy and enter at the top of the right page. It is a verification code that you have to retype into the box provided. Hit "download." Another change- the information on the file (name, description) disappears and you don't see it again except when you hit "save to my computer." Then, you will be able to see the name of the file in the download progress box. But, it still isn't visible on the actual Megaupload page.

Back to the instructions:

You will be on the download page for the file. You will see a countdown on the top right of the page. After it counts down, the button will say, "Click here to download." Again, you may not see the file name and description on the page as you are used to seeing. Megaupload has changed things up to make people think they need to subscribe!

Often, a popup ad drops over the button as it counts down. Just X out the drop down ad.

LEFT click the "click here to download" button. You will be asked where you want to save the file to your computer.

Often after you click to download, another pesky, very large ad for webcams slides down (excuse the nature of this ad!). Just X it out. By closing it, you will not get any trojans or viruses, etc.

Leave the megaupload page open until the download is finished. Megaupload allows you to download from more than one link at a time.

NOTE: Please don't copy these links and post them elsewhere as it can overload the links. Please download a copy, then make a new link by uploading to Megaupload or a similiar website to share. Thank you.

Thanks so very much. I was able to download part 2 which was terrific! Great to see our mr.daughtry.com over and over again! The only thing I wished is that the stadium might have been even more jam-packed. My God, how do I love thee, Chris Daughtry???Let me count the ways. . .

PS-I just saved it and rewatched it. It was excellent coverage, really. CHRIS CRAZY and the ending of reaffirming and proclaiming that Chris has the 'IT' factor which has him on his way!!!!

I just watched it at 10 pm, and they ran the same reports, but there was some variation. Shortened a little, but perhaps a few shots in there I didn't remember from the other vids. I may have missed those pieces of video the first time around.

I am planning to cap it when the newscast is repeated at 2 am EDT.

It would be worth capping just for anchor Jeff Varner's zany comments i.e. that he didn't think he would shave his head for Chris Daughtry but he thought maybe his co-anchor, Neco Behla would!

I just copied and pasted the instructions for Megaupload into the first post. It sounds like you are hitting one of those pop up screens that try to get in the way! Megaupload is tricky like that.

I get the countdown clik on the button when it says download then I get a quick white screen saying 'download limit exceeded'
Then a get a page saying this:

That message usually comes up if you try to do more than megaupload download at at time.

I will make a note of it in the first post. Also, I will see what it is doing. I will make some more links too. I have been trying all day to get back here. Real life getting in the way.

hey.. i'm a new member here.. and i'm from Malaysia. I just can't seem to get any download link in Megaupload. i truly hope that someone will upload the videos to places like Rapidshare.de. thank you so much. btw, this site ROCKS!

I know a fan in Maylasia that has the same problem with megaupload. They only allot a certain number of download spots for your country, and it is very hard to get into one of those free download slots.

Instead of doing two new megas, I will use rapidshare or spread-it or yousendit for the 6 pm versions.

I just posted the videos from the 10 pm news broadcast on Fox 8 Saturday night.

They are a little smaller in general, because the features were smaller.

Slightly different with less "live" reporting from the Chris Daughtry events.

Working on one file for the 10 pm videos, and then one file for the 6 pm videos.

Just added Rapidshare links for all the video files. Sorry it took me a while to get them up.

No. You don't. I am not as familiar with Rapidshare, but from what I could tell you do this:

Left click on the Rapidshare link.

You will go to a page that makes you think you may need to be a member.

Scroll down and you will see a box with the benefits of membership versus non-membership.

At the bottom right corner is a selection that says "Free."

Click on that and you should see a page with a countdown somewhere in the middle of the page. It says something about making you a link to click on. When it counts all the way down, click on the link. The link will contain the file name of the video.
