Randy Jackson said on his Hit List Show on Saturday the following

Chris is "gonna sign his own record deal now and start his own band and I wish him good luck and I know he's gonna do EXTREMELY well cause he's definitely got it going on like that and for those of you who don't know on the show and didn't see he's a bona fide true rocker...Chris can throw man and he's got a little soul flavor and I love that..."

So all that talk of Chris being a solo pop artist can be thrown out the window.

Chris is going to ROCK with his new band!!!!

It's great to see Randy finally really say something about Chris after the elimination. You always knew that Randy (and Paula) were impressed with Chris from day one. It bothered me that they didn't say more after the elimination, but I have a feeling that because of AI restrictions they may have to limit what they say publicly until the show is over.

A word to Randy.... when you're judging don't backtrack after Simon has his say.
For example, on "Broken" you said "another great song, another great performance"..... then after Simon makes his comments about it being a "boring" song..... you say "the song may have been boring....." You've done that several times after Simon speaks..(and not just with Chris) . and I just want to smack you! STICK TO YOUR JUDGMENT... you're much, much better at judging and knowing talent then Simon - remember Chris' audition!

thats awesome!

well we all knew though that he wanted a band with him....hes repeated that everywhere....just recently on ryans morning radio show. and i dont think he would get an all new band......i think hes loyal enough to keep absent element.....but probably not the name. hes hinted that he wanted to bring his guys from back home with him. i love that about him,,,,,he always sounds so genuiune and loyal.
***CHRIS_O_HOLICS***stay alive!

oh,,,,you guys know how rob thomas' group matchbox 20 was considered a group but really it was just rob thomas and the band......not to be to crude but i think thats how its going to go for chris' band....

thanks for the update! somehow, i suspected this will really be the case since Chris almost always says that he definitely want a band with him... i do hope its AE. they all fit like a glove and they really sound good together. laugh.gif

I don't know .... I think that he should sign WITH his OLD band. I think that is most fair don't you think?

Hi Sterling,
I most defintely agree with you on your "Word to Randy" ........ he does waffle sometimes after Simon "speaks". As for he and Paula not saying much after Chris was eliminated, there is the factor of AI restrictions that you mentioned, but I also think they were in shock as most everybody was. What is there to say after the man with obviously the most talent is let go?

ditto to all of the above. randy's response was a long time coming.

reminds me of the song 'CONCEIVED' by beth orton: "sometimes the future comes round to haunt me. . .we'll have to wait and see." And this waiting for Chris' rocket to take off on his own terms is really one of the longest waits i've ever had to endure!
Tyra
Ditto on all the above...Randy did tend to waffle after Simon said his comments and I trust Randy much more than I do Simon. If it were up to Simon, Chris wouldn't have even made it after the first audition. I've been playing my CD of all the performances and Simon changed him mind from one week to the next. He praised Chris on week 5 after singing Dead or Alive on how he is the only artist they have EVER had who refused to compromise and then the following week after I think it was Inuendo he chastizes Chris for not showing another side and how he can't keep doing the same thing week after week...what a hyprocite!!!

As to the tattoo I hope tats don't change anyone because for my 60th birthday in Sept. I'm going to get my first laugh.gif

I love Chris, love the tat, love AE. Silly me, I'm just a fan.
bluepenguin
speaking of the judges, did anyone else get SO annoyed at their childish behaviors on the show? it's like SHUT UP! and move on! just say ur piece, stop dissing on simon's responses and let that be it! i kno simon's response are sometimes harsh but out of all of them, i usually agree with simon the most. but it just got sooo obnoxious, the way they were all acting... we're not here to judge simon, we're here to judge the singers so get a grip! mad.gif

as for chris, yea, that was expected that would get a band. he definitely needs a band behind him cuz thas his style. i'm excited to see if he's gonna stick wit his guys from AE or if he's gonna create another band... but yea, i agree wit everyone... he's already got the band chemistry needed with AE so that'll work well! smile.gif
Sheli
I will support him throughout his career, band or no band. It would be nice if he could get the other AE guys signed along with him, but may be wishful thinking on our part.

Biggest question for me right now is how long do we have to wait for a cd to be released...the wait is killing me already!
iamwhoiam
i wanted him to be either solo or with his old band sad.gif
sterling
I think a band is important to him. I've always noticed, and was impressed with how on all his performances he acknowledges, gestures, bows toward the band when he finishes his song.
DaughtryRocker
Thanks for sharing this, its great news
chrisislove
I'd rather see him as a solo artist
Rosered
U know which ever direction Chris chooses, solo or band, he's going to be successful since he's amazingly talented and is indeed true to himself and what he's about.

For me personally I can see him as a solo artist but I love him so much that I would support his decision either way!!

Chris may have a band with him, but that certainly won't limit him to only rock, he can sing whatever he wants and have the band back him up. Josh Groban has a band that backs him up and tours with him, he sings a mix of pop and softer music.

I hope Chris does a mix since his voice works across the spectrum and he's multi talented, it would be a shame to only sing hard rock. His first album will be what fans want to hear, the next album will be more him and what he likes. I'll like it whatever it is.

I agree with your views, wisteria. I would like to have a mix of both hard and soft rock on Chris' CD. But I will take whatever he decides to give us. And please hurry, Chris! cool.gif

I think being on AI and having to sing some types of songs that he wouldn't have normally chose to do - and then receiving such high praise for them. He now knows his tremendous wide appeal. I think that's why he now talks about doing Rock, but also doing some "cross-over". ROCK, ALTERNATIVE, POP, it's not going to matter, it's going to be DAUGHTRY - and we love it! cool.gif
