alrighty. after seeing the tattoo pics, and reading what Randy said about Chris starting his own band ...

i predict that the name of the band will be "DAUGHTRY"

here's why:
i'm NOT surprised Chris got a tat, or that it was a huuuge one across his shoulders.
but i WAS taken aback that the tat was of his own last name - which to me is typically done by a pretty narcissictic person. which we know Chris is not. he's too salt-of-the-earth to do any of that hollywood "praise me" crap. so why would a good guy like that get a brazen tat like that? i say it's gonna be his band's name.

but that's just me. whaddaya think y'all?

i think it's highly probable that "Daughtry" would be the new name of his band. that would be cool (more people would recognize the new band if they associate it with Chris)! if not, i still don't think its narcissistic. he just wants to pay tribute to his family and i don't see anything wrong with that. people do it all the name. i know people who had their names, initials tattooed on their bodies. at least, they won't regret what they had tattoed years from now. jmho though...

I'm inclined to believe that the name of the band backing him will be Daughtry. Interesting that the tattoo is so large, but I do not have a problem with it at all.

I will support Chris no matter what the band name is, no matter how many tattoos he has.

As I said on another fansite, the National Inquirer is a rag mag, but if he in fact Chris did get a tatoo, that's fine with me. There's nothing wrong with a tatoo, even though I'm not partial to them for myself. No worse than multiple body piercings. I definitely think it's going to be part of his new gig. Picture him rocking out on stage, perhaps removing his shirt, etc., then there in big letters is the name DAUGHTRY.....probably the name of his next band. What he does with his body is his business; no matter what, he still looks hot to me.

OK OK OK, I'll qualify my narcissism comment.

Any normal civilian getting his own name tatted on himself in gi-normous letters is no big deal. But someone who is FAMOUS? Come on, Joe Schmo getting his name tatted on his back is one thing; Paris freaking Hilton getting "hilton" tatted across her (sorry excuse for an) ass is quite another. Because she's in the public eye, such an act instantly goes from pride to narcissism. (Sorry friends, but perceptions - right or wrong - are very powerful that way.)

Let's face it, Chris isn't a normal civilian anymore. But he's still a solid, great guy. And I just don't think he would do the i'm-famous-praise-me-i'm-awesome tat unless it had a purpose much larger than himself ... that purpose being his band. Which I believe will be named DAUGHTRY (in the fine tradition of Van Halen, Bon Jovi, Winger and Dio to name a few).

Hey, I'm gonna be all over anything he does, no question. Hell, he could call his band Unicorn Orgasm, and I'd still be first in line to buy the tshirt.

And as for the names on sports jerseys comment?

I definitely think that the name of Chris' new band will be "Daughtry". I think that the tatoo was a symbol of a new beginning for him and his band. Also the pain and suffering he endured getting the tatoo symbolizes what he had to endure to FINALLY get a record contract for his band.

I think "Daughtry" is a great name for his band. Other groups have used last names as the name for their band ie Bon Jovi, Van Halen, etc.

I was hoping he would take Absent Element along for the ride!

I'm not the sports jersey person nor am I the person who spelled conceited wrong. I did post saying whatever Chris did was fine with me. You are entitled to your opinion as we all are. Be careful.....some of your comments could be construed as borderline narcissistic......telling people to compare apples to oranges and correcting their spelling.
