i have been doing some research on Owen Sloane. Remember when Chris was on Ellen and said he wanted the name of a good attorney. It has been taken out of her reruns but it was said. So all of a sudden he has Rob Thomas , Ellen and whoever telling him about attoirneys and then he is represented by Owen Sloane. This man is the best there is winning LA attorney of the year, representing a rolls royce of entertainment talent. To numerous to list He must be hugely expensive and would only take on Chris as a client if he did not believe in his marketability and that he would be getting a big return on his time and investment in Chris. The gist of this topic is that Chris is on the move and there must be contract things ect that we will never be privy to but I would imagine that the e19 rules ect probably do not apply to Chris anymore. They know they have dynamite with Chris and I am sure concessions have been made and you will see the hypeing of Chris very soon. Why else does Chris not always look like the cat that ate the canary lately and also seems to distance himself from certain Idol interviews ect. CHRIS IS ON THE MOVE. WAHT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS. I ALSO THINK THAT HE PROBABLY ALREADY HAS AN ALBUM READY TO ROLL' .
very well said!

I agree with all you guys!
I have read posts from people on other boards saying that Chris will just fade away like other past Idol losers. They used Tamyra and Constantine as examples as Idol favorites who never found success. I beg to differ. Chris holds something that both Tamyra & Constantine lacked.
Chris vs. Tamyra - Chris has the ability to compete in todays music industry. He has a mainstream radio sound and an a marketable image. Tamyra, although one of Idols most beautiful and talented contestants, was not made for todays music. She is a pre-mature Whitney Houston and although Whitney was big once, that type of music is dead. Now a days, a beatiful voice doesn't mean anything. It's a plus, but in todays music industry, sex sells(see Beyonce & Christina Aguilera). Chris wins that battle of being mainstream.
Chris vs. Constantine - Constantine, while breaking down barriers that had been built on Idol, never really marketed his image. He was the self-proclaimed "rocker"...but he tried to show too much versatility. What rocker sings "I Think I Love You" on a night where he could have picked a huge rock classic? Chris "refused to comprimise" his image and stayed true to himself. Because Chris stayed true to himself, it helped people keep their respect for him. Especially people in the music industry. Chris knew who he was and there was no way around that...Constantine didn't. Chris wins this battle of knowing who he is and what he is about.
I think what people need to realize is that Chris was the favored contestant this season because he is exactly what todays music industry is all about. Like Carrie is to Country, Chris is to Rock. You will see much more of Chris because he is making all the right decisions.
Although September is a long ways away...it doesn't mean Chris will become forgotten. He has some of the biggest names in the industry behind him. If his first album is amazing, which I'm sure it will be, Chris will be on his way to stardom.
I posted on another board and I will post it here. Chris is a music legend in the making. I honestly see him as the modern day Johnny Cash.
i would have to agree on you on this on all counts.

I tend to agree with both of you, but having no news about Chris is frustrating. Sept. is a long time to wait to find out who he signed with. Early on, when I read about the Owen Sloane-Rob Thomas connection, I thought that he may have signed up for Rob's new label. I still think that's a possibility, because it would probably fall under the RCA umbrella. Otherwise, I think those AI contracts are tough to break unless you have mucho bucks.
i know... i feel the same way, getting all frustrated that im not hearing anything from Chris but id like to believe that this is what he's been advised. i have a feeling that after the tour, Chris would have a very big and very pleasant "surprise" announcement to all of us fans. either way even if Chris doesn't change labels, i think the AI people would really try to hold on to him. he's too precious to let go. Chris=Money for them.
