My grandma sent me this article...even though she knows how upset the Milwaukee review made me. I met this women after the show waiting to meet the "star" and I can't believe how arrogant she was. All she could talk about was the fact she was the one who gave him the jersey. Now she is getting press from that crap (sorry)! All I have to say is that Taylor looked rediculous and Chris should have worn the jersey. If anyone knows about Brett Farve, he would much prefer Chris' music to Taylors and was probably embarrassed Taylor wore it on stage. And besides, I hate to burst this ladies bubble, but I used to work at the Bradley Center (where the concert was held) and numerous stars much larget than Taylor have been on stage in a Brett jersey....much bigger stars!!!

Just needed to vent again....Thanks all!

'Idol' fan completes pass of No. 4 jersey

Only once in my life have I been a regular at a watering hole, and that was in the 1970s at the Mad Hatter nightclub downtown (at Water and Clybourn where Joey Buona's is now).

If anyone was more into that place than I, it was Yvonne Ondrejicka. She made 8-track tapes of the favorite Hatter dance music and handed them out to us.

It's good to know Yvonne hasn't lost that girlish enthusiasm.

If you were at the "American Idol" concert at the Bradley Center the other night, you know that winning crooner Taylor Hicks fired up the crowd by donning a Brett Favre jersey for part of the show.

It was no surprise to find out that Yvonne had battled layers of security guards to get that jersey to Taylor.

When Yvonne regifts, she does it on a grand scale. She had received the No. 4 jersey as a present, but it was too big. Because the concert was the same night as the Packers' first pre-season game, she got the idea that she wanted Taylor to have it.

We're living in times when you can't bring a bottle of water on an airplane, so her plan to pass along the jersey - gift-wrapped, no less - to America's flavor of the moment was hardly a sure thing.

But Yvonne, who works at a downtown law firm, is a huge Taylor Hicks fan. True to her Mad Hatter roots, she has captured Taylor's television performances on CDs and passed them out to friends. And there's a sign in her car window that reads: "Taylor Hicks in 2006." It will remain there until 2007, she vows.

She and a friend went to see the idol show on Saturday, and right away she started hitting up security guards to give the gift bag to Taylor. She had stuffed a handmade card in there saying, "Please deliver to Taylor Hicks," and she included a return address sticker in case Taylor wants to send a note or, better yet, drop by.

Some of the guards refused to help her, considering her a potential idol threat. One even taunted her, she said, by saying, "Well, did you learn anything from this? You just spent money and dragged it here for nothing."

"Well, he really got me mad, which only drove me further," Yvonne said in an e-mail to me.

Finally - and by now it was intermission - she pleaded with a guard near the stage, flashed her best puppy dog eyes and got him to take the bag. But he told her not to get her hopes up.

That was the right way for the guard to handle it, said Steve Costello, president of the Bradley Center.

"They don't encourage it, but they do allow it," Costello said. Security will usually inspect such items and, if possible, pass them along to the intended star. Shows like this one can attract quite a few gifts, including some that come in the mail addressed to superstar so-and-so in care of the Bradley Center, he said.

The crowd of some 13,000 went wild when Hicks re-emerged to sing more songs and was wearing the Favre jersey. If you saw Saturday's game, you know the real Brett couldn't generate half that much enthusiasm that night.

Yvonne went wildest of all. Like that one determined sperm that reaches the egg first, her gift had wiggled through all the barriers and found its mark.

She thanked the security guard who made it happen. "No problem, glad to do it," he said. A group of other guards, but not the jerky one, applauded when they saw her after the show because she had achieved something rarer than a Simon Cowell compliment. Her shirt was on her idol.

"I would like to believe," she said, "that he slept in it that night."
