This one might make you smile. First, the story behind it. On 9-11, a fireman named Mike Moran lost his fireman brother, Battalion Chief John Moran, along with 11 other members of Ladder 3. At the Concert for New York, Mike got up on the stage and for the whole world to see, told Osama bin Laden to kiss his royal Irish *ss. To honor those men, I wrote THE BALLAD OF MIKE MORAN. A producer saw it, got together some musicians, booked studio time, and produced the song. It has been played around the world. About a year after that, I had the great pleasure of meeting Mike and a bunch of friends for a night of Guinness at a New York Irish pub.

My goodness, I wrote the song to evoke a little humor. The level and degree of animosity is surprising. Subsequent to the suggestion that some of you were treating her like one of the three world leader thugs, I thought you would see the light. The graphic was created just to make the point. Apparently, that didn't work very well with some of you.

I want to go on record that I wish nothing but the best for all of the participants as they go after their dreams. I hope they all do well and can bring people joy through their performing.

It was the voters who determined who stayed and who got booted. Don't blame the performers. Blame stupid and clueless people who have been dumbed down by a politically correct educational system that has failed them miserably. It is a tragedy that, although they have limited math skills and no common sense, they learned how to turn on the television and dial the phone.

Speaking in regard of the picture you made, I apologize for not catching the real point of it. It made me laugh when I looked at it, so I just assumed it was meant as a joke.

Apparently though, I haven't been aware that kidding about it is a form of animosity. I speak for myself on this, but I'm sure everyone else here would never wish real harm upon Katharine or any of the other performers. If something extraordinarily serious were to happen, I certainly wouldn't find humor in it.

It's just this instance where the idea of her getting hit in the mouth by Chris of all people is funny. I hope she wasn't hurt badly.

Now I understand. I was pretty much kidding when I gave the little rant. But I can just see McPhee phans getting excited about all the mean Daughtry fans. If they read this, I wanted them to know that it was all in good fun. What might make it even funnier is if Kat sang it to Chris on the bus. Do you think he would turn red?
